Novojunta® Pilastra, the perfect solution for facade angles

Facades suffer expansions and contractions, caused mainly by thermal gradients, seasonal and daily, which the facade orientation and the coating colour influence on. Therefore it is necessary the installation of expansion joints and elements that permit the movement and decrease the shear efforts between support and coating, avoiding distortions in the installation.

In the other side, the weakening of the tiles on making the angle is the main cause of breaks and premature ageing of the tiled corners. Therefore, they are fragile zones and sensible to the mechanical efforts.

 

Novoflex-Cork®, more than just a spacer

Novoflex-Cork® are flexible spacers made of natural cork, that have a double function:

In one hand, they act as spacers, making easier the tile installation on floors or tiled walls, maintaining the separation distance in an homogeneous way, helping to get perfectly aligned corners and making them resistant to knocks and scratches.

In the other hand, they act as absorver of the contraction forces that the joints suffer when the tile expands, making that this force do not go totally to the joint, which rigidity favors the soon ageing of the tiles.

Novojunta Metal-Cork® is an expansion joint made up of two aluminium profiles and a central part made of 20mm technical agglomerated cork.

Its main function is to avoid the accumulation of pressings, caused by the expansions and contractions of the pavement or wall, due to thermal changes.

In the other side, the use of this material allows to offer technical as well as decorative solutions, with a totally natural product, that promotes and supports an ecosystem, as cork ecosystem, which a lot of species depend on.

Emac® held another technical conference for architects, in Valencia (Spain)

Under the theme "Technology and Design in Building Finishes", Emac® held last june 22 a technical conference oriented to arquitects and construction professionals of Region of Valencia, Spain.
 
Attendees were able to learn the constructive applications of the Emac® structural and expansion joints, and the new legal requirements. The conference, hosted by the technical department of Emac®, also included a review of the Emac® full range of profiles and trims for wall sand floors.
 
The conference, held in the Emac® facilities, allowed attendees to visit the showroom of the company, and appreciate with the five senses the use and applications of such solutions.
 
Emac® bets on the professional training as a support tool and key element for all the value chain of ceramic, and this year 2009 is presenting its specific products within the building through training days throughout the country.
 
The meeting was attended by important architects, builders and decorators of our region, in addition to the support of major ceramic tile companies.
 
The day ended with a wine of honor, during which attendees were able to talk more informally with members of the Emac® technical and commercial team.
